PREVIOUS WORK

Theology in Context  For the past two years I have facilitated a workshop as part of the Theology in Context seminars in St Patrick's College Maynooth. Together with the students we have explored the elements of a spirituality of family life and how that may shape and challenge our understanding of pastoral ministry. I have also been Pastoral Supervisor for seminarians on the Pastoral Theology Diploma for several years.
The Future of the Family in Ireland

In January 2016 I was a guest speaker at this conference organised by The Irish Catholic newspaper and the Iona Institute.

Redemptorist International Sabbatical programme - Hawkstone Hall

For several years I facilitated a course on the Spirituality of Family Life for the Redemptorists in Hawkstone Hall. With participants from all over the world - lay, ordained and religious - it was a wonderful opportunity to explore the spirituality of family life in different contexts and cultures. A creative element of the week long workshop was the making of tapestries which reflected the influences and experiences which had shaped the spirituality of the participants.

Formation programme for the Permanent Diaconate
Parish Pastoral Development

Over the past few years I have had the opportunity to work with Permanent Deacons and those training for the permanent diaconate within the Diocese of Elphin. Reflective living, integrating faith and life, exploring spirituality and encountering God in the bits and pieces of daily life have all proved stimulating and dynamic themes with these groups.

For over ten years I have been involved in Pastoral Development in the diocese of Raphoe in County Donegal - as a member of the Diocesan Pastoral Team and then employed as a Diocesan Resource Worker.  I have enjoyed the opportunity to work with groups in the parish whether that is to develop and train Parish Pastoral Councils, train Ministers of the Word and Eucharist, train volunteer leaders for  sacramental preparation programmes or support parishes running the Pope John Paul II Award programme. This is the type of work I am now continuing on a freelance basis.
